About Us

Business Training Capital Resource, Inc has provided workforce training in Maryland and Ohio since 2014 and as of 2020 we began wellness and health training at Akron Bible Church and Macedonia Baptist Church. GodRich Food & Farmers Project is an extension to our current programming. We have acquired land to teach urban farming for youth, returning citizens, recovering addicts and the general population in this food desert. This approach to health and wellness has encouraged healthy alternatives to these stakeholders.

GodRich Food & Farmers Project has taken an intensive look at the community’s overall health and wellness, including an examination of community and population health indicators to determine areas of greatest need for a food forest. Ward 5 represents an example of a community that can utilize a food forest to insure it can combat health issues, gun violence and the impact of Covid-19. Food forests are a new farming concept in our area, but they have been used for thousands of years in other parts of the world. They are complex, just like nature. That’s why another service we will offer is education. We will attempt to teach as many of the community as possible the significance of having a food forest, how to maintain them, and about planting, harvest information, preparation and several other workshops. We must assure people have a better understanding on how healthy food changes people and in turn promotes a healthier community.

“Urban agriculture plays an important role in enhancing urban food security since the costs of supplying and distributing food to urban areas based on rural production and imports continue to increase, and do not satisfy the demand, especially of the poorer sectors of the population. Next to food security, urban agriculture contributes to local economic development, poverty alleviation and social inclusion of the urban poor and women in particular, as well as to the greening of the city and the productive reuse of urban wastes.” In an effort to solve these community issues through something that I love doing, The Urban Love Farm Initiative was born through our GodRich Food & Farmers Project, we believe that we can tackle these issues. We aim to provide youth, veterans and the disadvantaged the knowledge and skill set to take on these challenges together.

It’s easier to grow healthy kids than fix broken adults and let’s grow people by growing seeds we can grow are way into a healthy environment and community. We plan to address these specific needs by developing community programs that directly impact its stakeholders by providing training, mentoring and teaching health sustainability in these perilous times. Planning and executing healthy community engagement initiatives to get stakeholders involved and consulting with private, public businesses, spiritual leaders and community-based organizations to find solutions to the challenges these disadvantaged populations face accessing opportunities.

“And God said, behold I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and
every tree, which is the fruit of the tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.” -Genesis 2:29

Besides aiding local farmers, the BTC Resources Sustainable Agriculture Initiative is dedicated to expanding the availability of fresh, healthful food in lower-income areas. A mobile market operated by the project journeys to Akron neighborhoods typically lacking healthy food options. Fresh fruits, vegetables, and locally produced bread, cheese, and other products are available through the market, which accepts EBT and a range of other payment methods to ensure inclusivity for all community members.
